Passport Application:
- Sri Lanka high commission in Bangladesh cannot issue any passport.
- Sri Lankans living in Bangladesh can apply for passports from this High Commission.
- The Commission will send your application for machine readable passport to Colombo.
- After 6 to 8 weeks you can get your passport from the High Commission.
Types of Visa from Sri Lanka Embassy in Bangladesh
There are six types of visa:
- Tourist and Transit Visa
- Business Visa
- Conferences, Seminars and Workshops Visa
- Travelling for Official business purposes/ diplomats on transfer to Sri Lanka/ short assignment to Sri Lanka
- Work / Employment Visa
- Media Personnel: Photojournalists, Journalists & Film Crew Visa

Duration of visa application processing
Visa application can be submitted: Sunday to Thursday from 9.30 a.m to 12.00 p.m (except public holidays)
Visa Issuing Time: 3.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m
At lest Issuing day:
- Tourist and Transit Visa: Issuing after 3 days.
- Business Visa: after 3 days.
- Conferences.... : after 12 days.
- Travelling visa: at lest 2 weeks
- Work / Employment Visa: Not Sure.
- Media Personnel: at lest 30 working days
